At the Governor’s Council for People with Disabilities 2008 Conference, I presented a workshop about what I call "the Social Web," special Web sites designed to help people connect with each other. My goal was to teach people how to use the Social Web to promote a cause, advertise an event, or draw attention to a Web site or blog. Using my methods, any nonprofit group or private individual can promote anything, even without an advertising budget.
I've posted all the course materials, including the PowerPoint and my notes. I have converted the PowerPoints into .pdf files to make them easier to download. If you would like to see the videos I used in the PowerPoints, there are links in the lecture notes.
If you have any questions, comments, or success stories, please email me. Also, everything but the handouts is copy-protected. If you need printable copies, please email me.
