Your local disability service providers can be a good resource for providing you with additional information or can assist you with an individual encountering the criminal justice system.Some communities have the resources of a Center for Independent Living available to you.
Some communities also have a local chapter of Self-Advocates. These are people with disabilities who can provide you with a wealth of insights about issues related to people with disabilities and their participation in the community.
