A while back, Fifth Freedom sent out a series of messages about Alan Spaulding. We asked for donations to help this lifelong disability advocate and his service dog relocate to an accessible home. Recently, they were able to do just that.
Alan was living in a farm house owned by some relatives. He was unable to maintain the house due to his disability. Public transportation was woefully inadequate, making Alan dependent on friends to take him to the grocery store, pharmacy, and on other necessary trips.
Thanks to your generous donations, Alan was able to relocate to an accessible apartment where maintenance is taken care of for him, and public transportation and community life are readily available. The Fifth Freedom board and staff would like to offer a sincere thank you to all who donated, and to those who helped spread the word about the fundraiser across the web.
Thanks for your help, advocates!
