Paratransit Wheelchair Safety Survey

Information courtesy of the University of Louisville

The University of Louisville is researching factors that contribute to incidents and injuries when accessing and riding a paratransit vehicle while seated in a wheelchair. They are interested in incidents you might have experienced during a trip or when entering or exiting a paratransit vehicle equipped with a lift. Even if you have never experienced an incident or injury, they would still like to hear from you.

If you are 18 years of age or older, use a wheelchair or scooter as your primary means of mobility, and you have accessed and ridden in a paratransit (Dail-A-Ride) vehicle using a wheelchair lift in the past three years, they would like to hear from you.

If you would like to help, you can do so by completing a brief survey here:  The results will be used to develop lift design guidelines that improve the accessibility, usability and safety of vehicle wheelchair lifts.
