July 29 At2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Information courtesy of the Association of University Centers on Disabilities

On July 29, the Association of University Centers on Disabilities (AUCD) will present an informative webinar about supporting children with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) who have experienced trauma.

Children with IDD experience abuse, neglect, institutionalization, abandonment, bullying and other types of trauma at rates much higher than the general population. However, when children with IDD exhibit challenging behaviors, the focus is often on compliance and behavior management instead of mental health treatment. Tune in to this webinar to learn about the unmet mental health needs of children who have experienced trauma, and how to provide children trauma-informed care.
