Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing BMV Survey

Share Your BMV Accessibility Stories, and Help Improve Services for People with Disabilities

Fifth Freedom is asking people who are Deaf or Hard-Of-Hearing to send us their stories about using the Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV). Were there any difficulties communicating with BMV staff? Were you notified when it was your turn to be served? Did you or a loved one make any disability accommodation requests? If so, how were those requests addressed?

Whether you were there for a driver’s license renewal, getting an ID card, taking your teen to get their learner’s permit, or any other BMV service, we want to read your stories. This information will be used to educate the administrative leadership who make policy for the BMV.

Please send your stories to Your story may help improve services for future BMV customers with disabilities.

Thank you for your help, advocates!
